I have a passion for working with non-profits, especially around topics related to community and social justice issues. I've worked with a couple of area organizations, creating images for their promotional use -- website, printed brochures, social media. It's been a fun way to use my love of telling stories to shine a light on the amazing things people are doing in our city and community.
Last year, I worked with the Hawthorne Community Center. They work with families on the westside of Indianapolis, providing adult education, employment & financial support, childcare and programs for senior citizens. I made several visits to photograph their activities for their website and social media posts. They've also been able to use the images from our project in a brochure, their latest Annual Report, and most recently one was included in an article in the Indianapolis Star!
I’m so excited! A new milestone as a professional photographer! My first published image in a major newspaper! First time I’ve seen a photo credit with my name outside of social media!
I love helping tell Hawthorne Community Center’s story. They are the heart of a community...
